Privacy Policy

Who we are

Codeintuition Ltd ("we" or "us"), a company registered in England and Wales with company number 15813382, whose registered office is at 124 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX, United Kingdom, runs www.codeintuition.io (the "Service") and is the controller of the personal data described in this policy, under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018). What we collect

• Your account: your name, email address, username and password (stored only as a salted hash). If you sign in with Google, GitHub or Facebook, that provider gives us your name, email address, profile picture and the identifier of your account there.
• Profile details you choose to add: position, company, city, country and links to your social profiles.
• Your learning: your progress, quiz and interview attempts and results, the certificates we issue to you (which carry your name), your bookmarks and notes, and the code you run and submit with its language and result.
• Your subscription: its plan, status and renewal date, your Stripe customer identifier, and the brand, last four digits and expiry date of your card. Card details go directly to Stripe and never reach our servers.
• Your messages: what you send to [email protected], and what you send through the feedback form (your reaction, the reasons you pick, your note, the page you were on and your browser type, with your name and email address if you are signed in).
• How you found us, only if you accept analytics cookies: when you create an account, the campaign tags of the link you arrived through (such as utm_source or the click identifier Google Ads adds), the website that sent you and the first page you visited.
• Your cookie choice: if you are signed in, your most recent choice in the cookie banner or Cookie preferences, and when you made it.
• Technical data: your IP address, browser type and version, the pages you request, the date and time, and how each request was answered (our logs and Cloudflare's), and the country each request comes from, which Cloudflare tells us.
• Usage data, only if you accept analytics cookies: the pages you visit, the features you use and your subscription plan, collected by Google Analytics with a hashed account identifier; and, if you subscribe, your purchase, renewals and failed payments, which our server reports to Google Analytics. If you also accept marketing cookies, Google Ads measures which of our ads brought you to the site and whether you then signed up or subscribed.

Why we use it, and our legal basis

• To provide the Service you signed up for (signing you in, saving your progress, running and grading your code, issuing certificates, your public profile, your subscription and billing, emails about your account and subscription, and answering you): because it is necessary for our contract with you.
• To keep payment and accounting records: because the law requires it.
• To record your cookie choice: because the law requires us to be able to show your consent and to respect its withdrawal.
• To keep the Service secure and working, and to investigate problems (technical data): our legitimate interest in a secure and reliable Service.
• To show prices in your currency, and to set the starting position of the cookie choices for your country (the country of each request): our legitimate interests in showing the right prices and in meeting the cookie rules that apply to you.
• To improve the Service from your feedback (the feedback form): our legitimate interest in improving the Service.
• Analytics and advertising measurement (usage data, and how you found us): your consent, which you can withdraw at any time from Cookie preferences in the footer of every page.

You must give us your name and email address, or sign in with Google, GitHub or Facebook, to create an account, and payment details to subscribe. Without them we cannot give you an account or a subscription. Everything else you add to your profile is optional.

Who we share it with

• Stripe, which processes payments and subscriptions.
• Cloudflare, which delivers the site, blocks abusive traffic and tells us the country of each request.
• Hostinger, which provides the servers the Service and its database run on.
• Contabo and Google Drive, which store our database backups.
• Zoho ZeptoMail, which sends our emails.
• New Relic, which stores our server logs.
• Anthropic, whose AI model helps us review the feedback you send through the feedback form, without your name or email address.
• Google (Google Analytics and Google Ads), only with your consent, as described above.
• Google, GitHub and Facebook, if you choose to sign in with them.
• Anyone who visits your public profile at www.codeintuition.io/users/your-username, which shows your username, your progress on each learning path, the problems you have solved and your activity. It does not show your name, email address, code, notes or subscription.
• Courts, law enforcement or regulators, where the law requires it.

International transfers

Our servers are in Germany, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom. Some of the providers above process data outside the United Kingdom, including in the United States. Where they do, the transfer is covered by UK adequacy regulations or by the provider's standard contractual clauses with the UK International Data Transfer Addendum. You can ask us for a copy of these safeguards at [email protected].

How long we keep it

• Your account and everything tied to it, including how you found us and your cookie choice: until your account is deleted. To delete it, email [email protected] from the address on the account.
• Payment and accounting records: for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
• Support and feedback messages: for as long as we need them to deal with what you raised.
• Logs: for as long as we need them to keep the Service secure and to investigate problems.
• Data in Google Analytics: for the retention period set in our account, at most 14 months.
• Backups: deleted after seven days.

Your rights

You have the right to ask for a copy of your personal data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to how we use it (including anything we do on the basis of our legitimate interests), and to have the data you gave us moved to another provider. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time; this does not affect what we did before. To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected].

We do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.

You have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk, or, if you live in the European Union or the European Economic Area, to the data protection authority where you live.
